BAF 2008 Community Play
Journey of a Dream
Brechin Cathedral
Tickets £5/ Under 16s £2
This major project is very kindly sponsored by Delson Contracts Ltd
A new and original open air promenade production commissioned by the Brechin Arts Festival staged by Suzanne Lofthus of Cutting Edge Theatre Productions and performed by YOU!
The novelty of the play is that the audience moves to several areas in Brechin where different scenes are played out. Act 1 and Act 2 are played in the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral.
The play tells the history of Brechin from 1600’s and covers the establishing of a settlement, the bustling market, the plague, Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Covenanters, the fire all the way through to the roar of the Factories. It is a passionate and stirring retelling of real people who had a dream.
Drawing upon the skills and talents that
exist in Brechin and the surrounding communities, we are looking for people of
all ages who would like to be part of the production. We need:
- Writers
- Actors (no experience needed)
- Stewards
- Costume Makers
- Set Makers
- Stage Crew
- Props helpers
- Catering help
- Publicity help, etc, etc
In fact, you name it - we need it!
Taking part in such a production is a fulfilling, challenging and ultimately rewarding experience for all involved - not only do we end up with an amazing drama performance but new friendships are formed with groups working together for a common goal and having a lot of laughs along the way!
If you have any questions please contact Maria Shanks on 01356 625569
Rehearsals: Every Thursday at 19.00 at the Gardner Memorial Church Hall, South Esk Street, Brechin.
