Creating Real People in a Real Place
Sunday 14 September, 14.00
Gardner Memorial Church Hall
Tickets £5/Under 16s £2
You have an idea for a terrific story, but how do you create REAL protagonists? Award-winning local author Eileen Ramsay will take you step by step through the process: fictional biographies, personality traits, mannerisms, etc.
Must you visit Venice or Outer Mongolia before you can
write authentically about them? Eileen, applauded for the authenticity of the
sense of place in her novels, will show you how to create a setting that a
reader will not only recognise but may even offer to buy!
Former Honorary Secretary of the Society of Authors in Scotland and the Romantic
Novelists Association of Great Britain, Eileen has been publishing for over
thirty years a body of work that contains contemporary and historical novels,
short stories, serials, and novels and educational publications for children.
She has published in the United States and in several European countries. Her
latest adult novel, Henriquetta’s Treasure, has been bought by a German
publisher and will be published later this year.
