Viva Brechin!
Sunday 14 September, 19.00
The Caledonian Hotel
Tickets (including tapas) £8.50
Originally from Edinburgh, Bob started off in folk music until, in his late 20s, he took up classical guitar studies with Philip Thorne. He then worked as a guitar tutor in Lothian schools for 10 years before moving to England and then briefly to Spain, where he grew to love the music of the great Spanish composers such as Albeniz, Granados and Rodrigo.
He has lived in the North East of Scotland for the last 20 years and now teaches guitar at the High School of Dundee and at Lathallan School near Montrose. His solo guitar playing is centred on music from Spain and Latin America and he has played at many local events and concerts.
Although Bob’s first love will always be classical guitar,
he can be spotted now and again performing folk music and has recently taken up
jazz guitar. His perfect day involves the sea, the sun, some chilled San Miguel
and, naturally, a guitar.
