DENNIS BUCHAN   R.S.A.

 Dennis was born in Arbroath, he has lived and worked there all of his life.

He studied at Dundee College of Art and Hospitalfield 1954--1959 and eventually taught drawing & painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee 1965- 1995. He was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1975.

' My work is mainly concerned with abstract interpretations of coastal environments and is very much dependent on colour and gesture to echo but not illustrate places and images experienced. Music also plays no small part as parallel stimulation'----Dennis Buchan 2007
