Angus Writers' Circle
Soirée
Monday 15 September, 19.00
Gardner Memorial Church Hall
Tickets £3/Under 16 £2
The Angus Writers’ Circle is a dynamic group which meets twice a month in
Arbroath. Membership is about 30 and most meetings attract an attendance of some
20 people.
The aim of the Circle is to promote the craft of writing for pleasure and for profit. To do that, a varied programme is held. At some meetings visiting speakers talk on aspects of writing and/or adjudicate competitions: the programme for 2008 includes talks on Scripting Drama, Writing Articles and Writing for Children. On club nights members may read out their work, for friendly and constructive comment.
At all meetings there is members’ news and information about events, courses and competitions of interest to writers. The Circle also has a small library from which members can borrow books.
The Angus Writers’ Circle meets from 7.30pm to 10pm on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, in the Viewfield Hotel, Viewfield Road, Arbroath. There is a modest annual membership fee and a small levy on each meeting. For further information, please contact the secretary, Mrs Eleanor Fordyce, 5, Park Place, Lunanhaed, Forfar DD8 3NA, tel 01307 465056.
